"Healthy" Lunches

A sarcastic rant for your amusement and edification:

Thank you to Michelle Obama. Really. Our school lunches are so much healthier now, all thanks to you! They replaced all those pesky little juice bottles with diet soda, because we all know calorie count is waaaay more important than cancer risk! In fact, lets just forget cancer is a thing and replace our sugar with aspartame and other chemicals,  because that's so much better for you! Right?
I know you know just so much about health, so it's fantastic that you shared your knowledge with schools,  we're definitely bringing down the American obesity rate this way!

And those whole grain pop tarts are just brilliant, because whole grain flour doesn't break down to sugar just as fast as white. Not at all. Isn't that simply genius?

I know I can trust that my lunches are healthy because of their cardboard likr tastand and their sugar-free carcinogens. Thank you, Madam Obama for saving my waistline!

Not.

  1. I agree, they take to food people like thats unhealthy then leave the gross unhealthy stuff, also the schools view on what is "healthy" is very scewed

  2. I agree with your post so much, thanks for posting. Lunches now are no more healthier than they were. You're right, Diet Soda is worse for you and not a lot of people know that. We're being tricked by all these supposedly healthy foods and drinks.

  3. I agree. The things they tried to do to make the lunches healthier are ridiculous. What's even worse is that they didn't even go all the way and eliminate all the unhealthy food like those Cajun fries or greesy (non-Dinico's) pizza. They just left them there next to the "healthy" food.

  4. I completely agree and think the chemicals in "healthier" products and the risks they have are not addressed enough. People see "less sugar" and immediately assume that the product is healthier. I also love your ironic tone throughout your post. It truly illustrates your anger and infuriation with Michelle's new "healthy plan."
