What Makes Me Post Modern

One of the first things you are given is your name.  It's this name that carries your entire identity.  Our society constantly wants to be able to organize and quantify us into neat compartments to create a more orderly society.  The name we are given allows us to be organized either alphabetically, by ethnicity, or by family.  Our society thinks that your can break down a person's identity through algorithms, that everything we are can be broken down into simple equations.

What makes me, and everyone, post modern is that we cannot be defined by equations; there's more to us then that.  It's commonly known that there are algorithms that can figure out our likes and dislikes.  They can even predict what products we are most likely to be interested in.  There's even equations that are able to quantify how your body works.  Is this me?  I don't fit into this idea of a person because I'm more then a set of equations.  Human beings aren't rational. We don't fit into this contrived idea society has about what it means to be a person.
