What is Not Postmodern Art

Postmodernism has been interpreted in many ways.  I do not believe there is a "correct answer" in its definition.  That being said I truthfully believe my answer is not necessarily correct, but more of an opinion that is not wrong.  Now there are many different varieties of post modern art, if you look up images of postmodernism there is no constant variable nothing similar between them every single piece is different.  I mean this literally no double entendre they physically have no similarity.  Some beautifully crafted large sculptures and some a crumpled up piece of paper.  Art has been a part of society for thousands of years and it changes forms quite easily.  This being said I believe we are running out of Ideas.  This being said when creating something new after millions and millions of creations you must push the boundaries.
We have constantly been asking ourselves what postmodernism is and nearly every my opinion of it changes slightly.  Although I have landed on the idea that artist are pushing the perception and what classifies art.  This also sparked this new thought of how art is how we perceive and how the media perceives it but what i believe modernism is testing the boundaries of art.

  1. I agree that their are many different interpretations of what postmodern art can be. I thought that you gave good examples of this in your article. Nice job!

  2. I like your point that we seem to be running out of ideas. Postmodernists are just trying to do something that hasn't been done before, and trying to mask this effort with a very vague "message".
