Facebook the Whole Story

Facebook profiles are supposed to show people who you really are, but many of these profiles barely give you a hint at who many people are. Most people that have a facebook profile do not initially fill out all the questions the website asks like, what are some of your favorite books and what is your favorite foods. What people do fill out are questions they don't really have to think about like, where do you go to school, and what city do you live in. With only answering these simple questions it leaves so much out of who the person really is.
The opposite can also be happening on profiles. People can be putting lies on their profiles. Since facebook does not know who you really are, you can post any lie you want about yourself or others. People may put down that they work in Vegas as a casino owner and are best friends with Michael Jordan. Now this is the most extreme example of lying on a profile, but it isn't impossible that this has been put down. The things that are more likely to be put down is lies about favorite movies, books and restaurants. I know that when I made some updates to my facebook profile about favorite books and movies, facebook just showed me some books or movies and told me to check the ones I liked. I don't think I lied about any of the choices I made, but what I do believed I lied in is leaving some books I liked out, because of what other people might think about them.
No profile is ever truly complete on facebook, there is always something left out for one reason or another. This helps people make false identities of themselves and only show people what they want to see and not what they want to see.
