Meta-Story

Over the summer I was lucky enough to take an exchange student trip to Japan. One of our stops was Tokyo. Getting of the train was like weaving through a corn maze. My friend told me this was going to be a very stereotypical Tokyo hotspot. "Akihabra is going to be so cool, I cant wait dude!" he said. Ryan nodded in agreement and made his way through the crowd. Upon surfacing on the street Ryan realized it was exactly how he'd pictured it, huge lit-up Japanese characters, tons of oddly dressed people, and shops selling everything from the latest technology to all sorts of Japanese media. At this point I had no idea hoe misleading this place actually was, behind all the lights and shops was something no one, especially my teacher, had anticipated. Ryan and his group ventured into one of the shops. As they weaved through the manga and anime we discovered a whole section of adult videos and books. we brushed it off and moved on, almost every store after had something related if it wasn't already just a pornography shop in general! In the end one of Tokyo's busiest technology hubs was also full of adult merchandise. The funniest part was the fact that this was a school trip, and all the students thought it was hilarious.
