Gender Identity

I think we had a very good conversation in class. Based on some of the other posts that I've seen, seems like 2nd period's was more civil than some other periods.

And that's important.

We're able to have an open discussion with each other and nobody got mad at each other-- nobody said anything horribly insensitive and we had a nice conversation about what gender looks like in America and Oak Park.

What I saw in class also showed me how trivial some of these gender roles and stereotypes are. I love steak and cupcakes, and that makes me, in my opinion, no more or no less masculine. It really makes me question what it is that makes someone masculine or feminine beyond these things.
