Republican Debate Live Blog #2 Senator Rubio's Use of Pathos and Ethos

Senator Rubio discusses his family's economical situation growing up. His father was a bartender and his mother was a maid, and although neither were well educated, they were still successful people. They were able to provide their children with a stable home and leave "all four of their children better off than themselves." Senator Rubio is using pathos in these statements to make a connection with his audience and while also establishing his ethos. He is doing this by showing his audience that he knows what hard work looks like and that he comes from a family that overcame their hardships.
