Governor O'Malley asserts part of his ethos late into the debate with a string of his political accomplishments. In Maryland O'Malley has restored voting rights to 52,000 people, decriminalize small amounts of marijuana, repealed death penalty, created a civilian review board and has openly reported lethal force and brutality complaints made by citizens. O'Malley stated that because of all of his accomplishments, he said he "would lead these efforts and do so with more experience than any" of the other candidates on the stage when it comes to urban crimes. His extensive background with working with the people is the driving force behind his argument.
