Republican nominee-hopeful Ted Cruz employed pathos during the Republican debate. He repeatedly referred to Washington as "corrupt" and "full of cronies". His use of repetition is an effort to scare the audience into believing what he is saying. While this accusation may be false, his repeated use of these words effectively drive his point, that Washington must be rebuilt in order to "wash out" the corruptness, into the audience's heads.
I have noticed that Cruz is one of the candidates that employs the most rhetorical strategies. I agree that his pathos was very strong in yesterday's debate; he often used phrases to villainize Obama and the Democratic party.
