The invention I would create to help Oskar cope with the loss of his father would be a machine that could create a fake body that people could use in funerals if there is no body. The device would require a picture of the person and the machine that looks like a casket would scan the picture. The machine would require wax to create the body and different colored ink. The machine would create a final product of a human looking wax body that would give people a body a t a funeral.
When Oskar, his grandmother, and his mom go to his dad’s funeral, Oskar questions why they are even going to the funeral because there was no body. Oskar did not understand why it was necessary to go to a funereal that had no body. With the new machine, there would be a body for Oskar to see and I think that would have really helped Oskar move on from the passing of his father.
