My invention for Oskar is based on the movie "Her". The main reason for this invention is to supply him with a friend he can talk to. This invention will be a computerized journal that will be able to take in the information that he inputs through a microphone, then respond to him giving him comfort based on his emotion. For example if Oskar was having a bad day trying to find the "Blacks" he could talk about his day and the computer would give him an uplifting message or even complete sentences trying to help him out. The computer would be pre- loaded with over 100,000 messages all sounding like his father.
This invention will help Oskar by giving him the comfort he needs to get past his fathers death. This particular invention would be great in making Oskar feel like he isn't alone. Throughout the book the hardest thing Oskar had to deal with was loneliness. Whether it was listening to his dads voice mails or walking around by himself Oskar needs someone to share his thought with or he would go insane. "Her" for him is perfect for his situation and emotional status.
