A few weeks ago while I was browsing instagram and I saw a bunch of pictures of guys asking girls out in creative ways to Homecoming. I have barely seen this picture where the GIRL would do the asking, except once a year when its the King of Hearts Dance(Turnabout). Society has made it seem that girls are expected to simply sit and wait till their prince charming finally gains the courage to ask them on a date. Women should break the tradition. The only way to get what you want is to ask. If you like someone, then you shouldn’t be afraid to ask them if your a guy or a girl. Girls should ask guys out to save themselves the stress of sitting around waiting for him to make the first move. Dating is an equal opportunity and the pressure shouldn’t only on the guy. I can understand why women would be afraid to turn the tables around because people could possibly judge them and assume that the only reason why they are asking is because they’re desperate. Another factor could be the chance of facing rejection, or the guy being surprised that the girl had finally gained the courage to even ask. Its unfortunate that both genders are still not completely treated the same.
Oh I so agree with this. If you're happy and you want it, you should go for it! Girls are basically taught to wait for Prince Charming, that he will eventually come and sweep her off her feet (Princess Theory). Both genders SHOULD be able to express how they feel and not be afraid of the things that follow.
