When I first heard that we were doing a music video project for “A Visit from the Goon Squad”, I was not very excited. I’m not the greatest actor or singer in the world so I was not sure if this project would fit my skillset. I was very relieved that we did not have to create an original song, or have to perform live. What really surprised me while working with my group members was how wide open this project allowed you to be in terms of creativity. There was no one way to do the video and I think the creative freedom really gave this project and more relaxed feel, which in turn created a vast variety of really good videos. My group was very lucky to have Login in it because he is a tech genius and created the whole music video himself. We used scenes from Batman and the Bourne series and used the song “Down for the Night” by Kanye west and we thought the theme was People’s representations of themselves often obscure their realities and it is only by abandoning these false representations that they can understand their true identity. Overall, I thought that the project was a lot of fun and diffidently would do it again.
I agree with you about the creative freedom that these types of projects give you! I think they are definitely good things in the end even though in the beginning no body ever wants to do them.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your video and thought the song choice was very fitting. I agree that this project was made even better by the many avenues we had to get to the end. Be sure to tell Logan you think he is a tech genius.
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize with what you are saying. At first, I was not excited about this project at all and I was kind of reluctant to take it seriously. But as the project developed more it became slightly more enjoyable. The teachers gave lots of room for creativity, more so than just about every other project I have ever done. In the end, I was happy with our group's finished product.
